FIRST CONSULTATION

About Your First Consultation

Can I consult with you even if I haven’t decided on the product details yet?

Yes, we can start at the concept stage. We’ll organize the requirements based on the information currently available, such as the product category, intended users, sales methods, budget, and desired timeline. Please let us know if you have any reference products or specific user experience in mind.

Can individuals or newly established brands also consult with you?

Yes, we work with individuals as well as those launching a new company or brand. Based on your product details, desired quantity, and sales plan, we’ll recommend a feasible way to move forward.

What should I prepare for the initial consultation?

The information you have so far is fine.

We can discuss things in more detail if you can share the product category, your desired feel and fragrance, estimated quantity, planned sales timing, or reference products. If you don’t have any materials yet, we can start with a consultation by phone or email.

Is there a fee for the initial consultation?

There is no charge for an initial consultation or preliminary estimate.

If you proceed with formulation prototyping, a prototyping support fee will apply based on the product category. We will explain the scope and cost before prototyping begins and proceed only after you have reviewed and approved them.

TRIAL & DEVELOPMENT

Regarding prototyping and formulation development

How long will it take to make a prototype?

For general cosmetics, the initial prototype is typically ready in about 1–2 weeks after the details have been finalized.

Additional time may be required to source specialty ingredients, check compatibility with the container, or develop a complex formulation or quasi-drug product. Please let us know your desired product, ingredients, feel, and timeline.

How much will the prototype cost?

Prototype costs vary depending on the type of product, its formulation, and the ingredients you require.

We will provide a quote tailored to your needs after learning more about the product you are considering and your requirements, so please feel free to contact us first.

How many rounds of revisions are included for the prototype?

We will let you know the number of adjustments and the scope of changes after the prototype is made, depending on the details of the project.

Please specify the changes you would like, such as feel, viscosity, or fragrance.

Please note that significant changes to the dosage form or concept, or the addition of new ingredients, may be handled as a separate prototype.

Could you send me the product you’d like us to use as a reference?

Yes, you can send us a reference product.

Please let us know which aspects you’d like us to use as a reference, such as the fragrance, viscosity, spreadability, how it absorbs into the skin, or the feel after rinsing. Rather than reproducing an identical product, we’ll work with you to develop an original formulation based on your preferences.

Can we develop it even without knowledge of cosmetics?

Yes, you can move forward even without specialized knowledge. We’ll organize the required formulation and specifications based on the intended use, target audience, desired user experience, and price range. We’ll explain any technical terms or points requiring a decision as we go.

Can I specify the feel and ingredients?

Yes, we can create prototypes while discussing your preferences for how the product feels and which ingredients you'd like included.

Depending on the ingredients’ properties, amounts, safety, stability, and labeling requirements, it may not be possible to formulate it exactly as you wish. Please let us know the ingredient names, the feel you’re aiming for, and any reference products.

PRODUCTS & LOT

Regarding the product and minimum order quantity

What kinds of products can you manufacture?

We handle the development and manufacturing of a wide range of cosmetics, including skincare, hair care, body care, and makeup.

Whether we can accommodate your request depends on factors such as the equipment, product formulation, fill volume, and filling method. Let us know the type of product you want to make and its specifications, and we’ll check.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Minimum order quantities vary depending on the product, fill volume, container, filling method, and material specifications.

Some products can be supplied in small batches, but there is no fixed quantity that applies to all products. Please let us know your preferred product, fill volume, quantity, and container concept.

Can you manufacture fewer than 100 units?

Depending on the product and specifications, we may be able to accommodate orders of fewer than 100 units.

However, this may not be possible due to factors such as minimum raw material order quantities, manufacturing equipment, filling methods, and container or label procurement requirements. We will advise you after confirming your desired quantity and product specifications.

What types of containers can I choose from for small orders?

For small production runs, we primarily offer ready-made containers and containers that support labeling.

Direct printing on containers and fully custom containers may require larger minimum order quantities for the materials. Please let us know your preferred shape, material, capacity, and budget.

SCHEDULE & COST

Regarding delivery time, costs, and payment

How long does it take from placing an order to delivery?

For standard cosmetics, delivery typically takes about 2–3 months after the formula and specifications are finalized.

The timeframe may vary depending on factors such as the manufacturing and printing of containers and boxes, specialty ingredients, stability testing, and procedures for quasi-drugs. If you have a desired delivery date, please let us know as early as possible.

Is the estimate free?

Preliminary and formal quotes based on your inquiry are free of charge.

To provide an accurate quote, we need to confirm details such as the formulation, fill volume, quantity, container, label, cosmetic box, and packaging method. Please let us know which specifications have already been decided.

What costs will be incurred?

Major costs include prototyping, manufacturing the contents, filling, containers, labels, cartons, printing, packaging, inspection, and delivery.

The required items vary depending on the product specifications, and additional costs may apply for specialty ingredients, extra inspections, or print samples. We will provide an itemized breakdown with the estimate.

Can the prototyping support fee be applied toward the manufacturing cost?

Yes, if you place a manufacturing order within the applicable period, the prototyping support fee will be credited toward the manufacturing cost.

Orders placed within 6 months of the start of prototyping are eligible for cosmetics OEM, and within 12 months for quasi-drug OEM. You can also confirm the eligibility requirements in the information provided when prototyping begins.

When do I need to pay for the containers and printing?

For materials that must be ordered or arranged in advance, such as containers and printed materials, you may be asked to pay for the materials upfront.

Since custom containers, direct printing, gift boxes, and similar items are difficult to cancel, we will let you know when payment is due after confirming the arrangements.

Please let me know the payment terms.

As a general rule, payment is due when the order is formally placed.

Depending on the project, payment may be split into an advance payment and a remaining balance due before shipment. We do not accept cash on delivery. We will inform you of the specific payment schedule when providing the quotation or confirming the order.

MATERIALS & PACKAGE

Regarding raw materials, containers, and packaging

Can we use customer-supplied raw materials?

Yes, we may be able to use ingredients you provide after reviewing the details.

We will check their specifications and safety for cosmetic use, microbiological quality, labeling names, formulation stability, and required quantities. Please provide documents such as specifications, SDSs, and analytical data.

Can food-grade ingredients be used in cosmetics?

Even if an ingredient is used in food, it cannot necessarily be used as-is as a cosmetic ingredient.

We make a decision after reviewing the ingredient specifications, safety documentation, microbiological standards, labeling name, and supply arrangements. If you wish to use the ingredient, please provide its specification sheet and analysis documents.

Can you manufacture this using containers we provide?

Yes, production using customer-supplied containers may be possible once we confirm compatibility with our filling equipment and the contents.

We will check the container size, opening diameter, material, pump or cap specifications, heat resistance, and required quantity. Please provide physical samples and specifications in advance.

Can I consult with you about choosing a container?

Yes. We select container options based on the dosage form, fill volume, usage method, quantity, and budget. The options vary depending on your requirements, such as stock containers, label compatibility, and direct printing.

Can you also arrange the labels and gift boxes?

Yes. We can also arrange labels, gift boxes, shrink wrapping, printing, and other services. Costs and lead times vary depending on the design, materials, number of colors, finishing, and quantity.

MANUFACTURING & QUALITY

Regarding manufacturing, quality, and remanufacturing

What kind of checks do you perform before manufacturing?

Before production, we will confirm the final formulation, raw materials, production quantity, containers, labeling, fill volume, and packaging specifications.

Since the production scale differs between prototypes and mass-produced items, we will also verify conditions for mass production as necessary. The finalized specifications will be confirmed by both parties prior to placing an order.

Will you be retaining manufacturing records and retained samples?

Yes, we create manufacturing records based on the production details and manage retention samples for verification.

Retention periods and quantities may vary depending on the product and contractual terms. Please let us know if there are any specific management requirements before placing an order.

Can it be remanufactured to the same specifications?

Basically, it can be re-manufactured based on the confirmed formula and specifications.

However, adjustments may be necessary due to factors such as lot variations in raw materials, changes in legal regulations, discontinuation of raw materials or containers, or changes in material specifications. We will check stock and specifications at the time of reordering.

What should I do if I have questions about the product after delivery?

If you have any concerns, please contact us as soon as possible.

Please provide the product name, manufacturing lot, description of the issue, quantity, storage conditions, and any photos so that we can review our production records and retained samples to determine the necessary response.

QUASI-DRUG OEM

About Quasi-Drug OEM

What is the difference between quasi-drugs and general cosmetics?

Quasi-drugs require different procedures and labeling controls than general cosmetics, based on their approved active ingredients and scope of efficacy.

The process varies depending on the desired efficacy, dosage form, and sales method. Please start by letting us know what kind of product you would like to create and the claims you wish to use.

Can you develop all types of quasi-drugs?

We cannot accommodate all quasi-drug products.

We will evaluate your request based on the dosage form, manufacturing facilities, active ingredients, approval classification, and application details. Please inform us of your desired product, efficacy, and target launch date.

Are the development period and costs different for quasi-drugs?

Yes, development typically takes longer and costs more than for general cosmetics.

This is because processes such as formula review, stability testing, applications and notifications, and label verification are required. Prototype support fees start at 33,000 yen (tax included) and will be quoted individually based on the project details.

Can terms such as "whitening" or "prevents acne" be used?

These expressions must be used based on the approved contents and the scope of indications and effects of the relevant quasi-drug.

These are not expressions that can be used freely on general cosmetics. Please confirm the expressions you wish to use and your product sales plan, and we will guide you on the appropriate procedures.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Information Management and Confidentiality

Will the development details be treated as confidential?

Yes, we manage the project details, formulation information, and design materials entrusted to us by our clients only to the extent necessary for our business operations.

Even when sharing with third parties, such as material suppliers, we limit this to those necessary for business purposes. Please let us know in advance if there are any special handling requirements.

Can we sign an NDA?

Yes, we can accommodate the execution of a non-disclosure agreement. We are also able to review a contract template of your choosing. If you would like to sign it before we begin, please send us the draft agreement.

Will this be published as part of your development portfolio?

We will not disclose product names, brand names, formulations, or development details as our track record without your permission.

If you wish for us to include them on our website or in sales materials, we will confirm the scope and content of the publication with you in advance.
